At Trythall we understand that some of our families will need access to an extended school day to provide high quality childcare while parents and carers are working.

We were delighted to work with the Local Authority to pilot a wraparound offer for our families.  Grant funding was used to resource and staff the provision which has been co-ordinated by one of our teachers, Jeanette Harrison.

While running the pilot our regular consultations with children, their families and our wraparound team has provided the following feedback.  Wraparound should:

• be run by a team of staff known to the parents and children
• include a healthy breakfast before school and snack after school
• have an element of flexibility in how spaces can be booked for families who work flexible hours or have children who access enrichment clubs when their siblings don't 
• include an opportunity to socialise with friends both indoors and outdoors
• have a range of activities the children can choose from

The pilot scheme ends in April 2026, but we are confident wraparound is beneficial to our families so will continue to run a wraparound service that responds to the needs of our families while remaining sustainable within the school budjet.  Consultation with all stakeholders will continue over the spring term and more information about what wraparound will look like beyond April will be published soon.

Meet the team

Our Wraparound staff are known to the children because they all work at Trythall during the school day.  This is vital to continuing strong, nurturing relationships beyond regular school hours.

Nicky, Jeanette, Charlene, Jo and Matt are committed to ensuring that wraparound is a safe, engaging and welcoming experience for all.

Hours

Wraparound can be booked through Parentpay.  We currently ask for 48 hours notice to book children in.  We can sometimes offer a session if you call the office within 48 hours of the session you need, but please bear in mind that we cannot accomodate all requests if we don't have a space or we don't have enough adults available.

Breakfast club runs daily from 8am -8.35am

Wraparound runs daily and offers 3 sessions.  You can book 1 or more sessions depending on your needs.

Session 1 - 3.15pm-4.15pm
Session 2 - 4.15pm-5.15pm
Session 3 - 5.15pm - 6pm

Booked sessions must be paid for in advance via ParentPay if you have access to TaxFree Childcare Vouchers please speak to Georgia who will be able to talk to you about how this system works.
