Regular Timetabled Activities

Assemblies:  We come together for assemblies which are lead by the teaching staff, children or external visitors.  The assemblies support our lifeskills and RE curriculums and provide a vital opportunity for our school council to come together.

Swimming:  All children have access to swimming lessons at the Penzance Leisure Centre.  Classes rotate across the year with a focus on the older children to ensure that all children are able to swim 25m by the end of year 6.

Surfing: Children in top class can opt into surfing lessons if they are able to swim 25m.  We have excellent relationships with the Sennan and Hayle Surf Schools.

Forest School:  We are currently collaborating with Higher Kiegwen Farm to offer Forest School to our youngest pupils.  We hope to expand this opportunity for all year groups soon.

Gardening:  Virg is continuing Mr Strevens legacy of teaching the children how to care for the natural world around them.  We are proud to collaborate with the National Trust at Godrevey to improve the habitats for rare bee collonies.

Drama:  We are delighted to welcome specialist drama teacher, John Brolly, into school every week to teach the children Drama.  These lessons promote teamwork, self confidence and oracy and often link to other areas of the curriculum embedding knowledge for all.

Music:  We work with the Cornwall Music Service to ensure that our children have access to a high standard of music teaching.  This has enabled the children to access their Cornish heritage by partcipating in St Piran's Day and entering the Gorseth.
